Lawn tractor tires will, of course, wear out just like any other kinds of tires. These kinds of tires use hollow inflated rubber which is then filled with pressurized air. With three numbers, the first refers to the height, and the second and third show the width and the rim size, respectively.

If you see the following display: 11.2 – 24 or 11.2/24, the first number tells you what the width is and the second the size of the rim that your tire will fit. If you see the following: 15/6.00-6, this means that the tire is 15 inches high and 6 inches wide. The thing to keep in mind at all times, though, is that the sizes specify in the owner’s manual are the ones to get. You can’t go wrong this way.
Another thing to keep in mind is the terrain you are likely to use your tractor on. This will determine the depth of the thread you are going to need. The front tire is the so-called round shoulder turf tire, and this tire usually sports shallow thread depth. This kind of tire is specifically made to keep any damage occurring when you mow your lawn. It keeps your lawn nice and smooth. The rear tires are usually what are called square shoulder turf tires. These have deeper threads for good traction as well as for ease of turning around. The tires that are called Rib tires are shallowly threaded, whereas Lug threads go deep into the rubber. These are excellent wherever the soil is relatively loose or the terrain is uneven or when you need to plow snow with your tractor. Since there are so many different things to consider, it is perhaps in your best interest to talk to an expert at the dealer when you make your purchases.
It should go without saying that since these machines are used quite a bit, you need to take good care of them at all times. To keep them well maintained, keep checking the tire pressure on them. When the lawn tractor tires are properly inflated, they do their best work on whatever kind of terrain you need to use them. Keep in mind, too, that these tractors – even though they are not large – have quite a bit of power, so you need to make yourself as knowledgeable about gardening in general as possible. When you take good care of these machines, maintaining them properly, they will last you a long time without any problems whatsoever. Rotate the tires, too, from time to time. Doing this cuts down on the wear and tear. And keep checking them from time to time to see if replacement has become a necessity.
